Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Photographic Slides and Negatives collection is an amalgamation of transparency formats from the archives at Hillwood. Some items were found in the collection with a difficult-to-trace provenance, while others were not easily discoverable in their previous arrangement. This collection was created to increase discoverability and access to the images.

Transparency formats include a variety of color slides, black and white negatives in several sizes, and a few color negatives. Image contents mostly revolve around Marjorie Merriweather Post and her residences, family, collection, and various events she hosted or attended.

Much of the collection has been digitized.
