Photographic Negatives
Scope and Contents
The Photographic Slides and Negatives collection is an amalgamation of transparency formats from the archives at Hillwood. Some items were found in the collection with a difficult-to-trace provenance, while others were not easily discoverable in their previous arrangement. This collection was created to increase discoverability and access to the images.
Transparency formats include a variety of color slides, black and white negatives in several sizes, and a few color negatives. Image contents mostly revolve around Marjorie Merriweather Post and her residences, family, collection, and various events she hosted or attended.
Much of the collection has been digitized.

Conditions Governing Access
The negative collection may only be accessed by digital surrogate. If one has not been created for the archival object, it will be digitized on-demand. For retrieval, archivists see: External Documents.

This series has been intellectually organized by common keywords and subjects in order for researchers to more simply locate their images of interest. Each title contains an extent field with the number of negatives for that exact topic.
