Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens is a historic house museum of decorative arts, fashion, and textiles in Washington, DC. It is the former residence of the founder, Marjorie Merriweather Post, a renowned businesswoman, socialite, philanthropist and collector of the twentieth century. The estate contains the most comprehensive collection of Russian imperial art outside Russia, a distinguished eighteenth-century French decorative art collection, and twenty-five acres of serene landscaped gardens and natural woodlands.

The Hillwood archives preserves invaluable primary and secondary source material on the life of Marjorie Merriweather Post, the creation of Hillwood as a residence, the works of Hillwood as a museum, and a burgeoning collection of Russian imperial history. Materials from the Hillwood archives are often used for exhibitions, publications, programming, and various external research projects.
